iSport confirms Davide Valsecchi for 2010 season
iSport with Davide Valsecchi in 2010
iSport are pleased to announce GP2 race winner Davide Valsecchi will continue to race alongside Oliver Turvey for the remaining GP2 Asia races and the 2010 GP2 Series. Valsecchi began his GP2 career at Durango taking one sprint race win and then moving half way through the 2009 season to title contenders Barwa Addax. Valsecchi showed promise but when the 22 year old Italian stepped into the iSport car in Abu Dhabi last month he had a stunning weekend. Taking pole position, feature race win, second place in the sprint race and both fastest laps, Valsecchi dominated the races in iSport’s most successful race weekend to date. Pairing up with British driver Oliver Turvey, iSport will aim to form a strong title assault in both GP2 Asia and GP2 Series championships.
Paul Jackson, iSport Team Principle: “From the first time Davide stepped in to the iSport car he was quick. He has always been a good driver but his performance in Abu Dhabi was outstanding. It was clear early on that Davide fitted in very well with the whole team and felt at home with us and that was reflected in his performance in Abu Dhabi. After another positive test at Paul Ricard in November we are delighted to welcome Davide to the team for the remaining GP2 Asia races and also the 2010 GP2 Series”.
