Nigel Melker uninjured after heavy crash in Feature Race
Nigel Melker was uninjured after his heavy crash in last week's Feature Race in Spa. The rookie ended up in the tyre wall after losing control over his Ocean Racing car in the middle of Eau Rouge, when the car’s base plate hit the asphalt various times. The car was completely destroyed. The team is investing the cause of the crash.
Melker was airlifted to the hospital in Liège by the medical helicopter. He was then admitted to hospital for observation and left the hospital on Sunday just in time to watch the GP2 Sprint Race from the paddock. The talented Dutchman has injuries on his hands and ribs but has been very lucky.
